![]() I made a point of telling Readdle my opinions/reasons and thanked them for not going subscription-only. I have used them often for how-to questions which weren't covered in their manual. They replied with a nice email telling me they would continue using both models. I will continue to use them until an OS update breaks them. ![]() I have two programs that I've used everyday for years which I can no longer get upgrades/updates for because they have gone subscription-only. I should also note that I loathe software subscriptions and will not buy them. I removed PDF Expert v2 completely before installing v3. Completely painless upgrade, although, technically, it's not an upgrade since I bought the full version using a discount code. They sent me back a discount code which I used to buy the new version. I too looked at the purchase page and did not see a third option for upgrading so I sent the Readdle folks an email asking them how to do it. I cannot comment on which features are missing upgrading from v2 (if any). I know this for fact because I upgraded a few days ago to the v3 app and received a new license. I would like to inform everyone that the new version is NOT subscription-only. Thank you for the feedback you have given us regarding PDF Expert accounts. A lifetime plan is available for a one-time payment of $139.99, but it only enables use of the editor on your Mac, not your Apple mobile devices. ![]() You can use PDF Expert across your Mac, iPhone, and iPad for $79.99 a year, which is considerably less than our top two picks, Adobe Acrobat DC and Nitro PDF Pro. It can convert scanned documents into editable text with the click of a button, and it converts PDFs into Microsoft Office formats, plain text, or image files. It makes page management a simple affair, enabling you to reorder pages by simply selecting and dragging them to a new location and add or extract pages with just a few clicks. True to its name, the editor expertly handled every task I threw at it. ![]()
